Happy Monday April's Fools: Jack in a box!

Hi all :)

I'm quite excited for this nail art! It's not perfect or fantastic or anything, but I like it and it turned out as I planned - almost!

I searched for April's Fool on Google Images and one of the pictures I saw was a Jack in a box. I had thought about doing a Jester hat, but knew I had to do a Jack instead :)

I did a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls on pointer, index and ring finger and OPI I Just Can't Cope-acabana. I did the black outline with acrylic paint, because I thought I would be able to rectify mistakes, but alas, this acrylic paint is very potent and wouldn't come off entirely. If I managed to get it off it leaved a very noticeable trace.. So I had to stick with my flaws.. The rest of the polishes I used was Collection 2000 Geranium (red), Revlon Posh (green), Rimmel My Denim (blue), Sally Hansen Stocking Nude (nude) and Wet'n'Wild French White Creme.

Look - it's quite close to my sketch;

I knew I wouldn't be able to do the same on my right hand, so I just did dots - and took this awkward right-hand-photo:

Picture Polish Aurora - Wowza indeed!

Hi all :)

When Picture Polish announced their new LE's I knew I needed Aurora! Luckily I was online and looking at Norway Nails Facebook-page to see when they were released here in Europe on the day of the release, so I was there when they announced they were available ;)

When I got it I was blown away! It was much more beautiful than the swatches showed! It had so many more shades in the shift than I saw on swatches - including copper! SO beautiful!

I wore it a couple of weeks ago - two coats layered over black. I didn't really have time to take good pictures because I was on my way out of the house for the weekend. I managed to get 1 good pic and one okay one.

Even though a lot of people have shown this one, I wanted to do a short post anyway.. And it helps that they soon release a second batch of Aurora plus a new one, Borealis - on the 31st of March.

You can almost see the copper shift in the above photo! It is often visible in real life!

Mmmm... *drool*...

Did you get your hands on Aurora? Isn't it wonderful? Or are you going to try on Monday?

Have fund and take care =D

Happy Monday Spring Challenge - Pastel: Failed skittlelette..

Hi all :)

For today's Happy Monday the prompt was pastel.. I don't own many pastels - they are NOT my fave! haha.. So I found the ones I had. You would think that in a polish collection of - I don't know - 400+ or something there would be more.. But.. These were the ones I found :p

I used a base of Sally Hansen White On. The pastels I used are Canmake 0024 (lilac), Maybelline Mint For Life (mint), H&M Qant a Lemon (yellow). Pinky and pointer has one coat of Barry M Sour Apple and two coats of Barry M Dolly Mixture.

I do not like how these turned out.. I intented for this mani to be a tape mani, but after messing up my right hand and 1 finger on my left hand, I decided to do flowers instead.. So it turned into a skittlelette.. of fail... :p

I still have trouble with the white balance on my camera, so these are taken outside of my lightbox - luckily the days are getting brighter and brighter so i'll be able to take pictures..

Here's the list of prompts!

Happy Monday Spring Challenge - Unicorn: Well, I tried :p

Hi all :)

So I tried to make a unicorn's horn, and ehm.. it didn't turn out that well! But I like the overall feel of the mani anyway =) It gives off some unicorn vibes!

I used Depend no 288 and Glam Polish Meteorite Mash (my third handmixed polish!) on thumb on pointer and Colorama Part Blue with a gradient of Gosh Blue Balloon topped with Ciate confetti on the rest. Middle and pinky is stamped with Sally Hansen White on and  Cheeky CH5. The, ehm, unicorn is freehanded with Sally Hansen White On and outlined with Models Own Artistix Nail Art Pen in black and the, ehm, horn of the unicorn has a couple of layers of a home-made spectra-flair topcoat and Ciate Confetti..

I have some problems with my camera atm, the white balance setting doesn't seem to work properly.. So I tried taking some natural light pictures too. Not the best, but I included one anyway..

Next week's theme is pastel :)

How do you like my, erhm, unicorn? :p Me and my boyfriend got a little laugh out of it :p

Happy Monday Spring Challenge - Flowers: First stamped decal-ish..

Hi all :)

Welcome to our third day in our Spring Challenge :) Todays theme is flowers and I've wanted to try out doing stamped decals since I saw cassgooner's tutorial on Instagram. So I tried it out!

I did a base of a Soak of Gel polish BMG 002. The reason for the SOG polish is, that I'm going to have a busy week so if I wanna avoid naked nails SOG is the answer. And then I might even have the time to do some other nail art on top of it, since I have a normal topcoat on top of the stamping and can just take it off with non-acetone remover and still have a base for nail art ;)

Allright on to this nail art.. I did the stamping with a green Konad stamping polish and filled ind with a purple and yellow Konad stamping polish and Laura Clauvi STAMP Backyard. The plate is Cheeky CH14. Unfortunately I'm not satisfied with this - I guess the purple was too dark for this.. The placing of the stamping ain't perfect either, but I didn't have time to do it over - even though the base is SOG.

I had to be very quick and not go over one place two times. So I'm glad I had a base of SOG polish instead of regular polish.. I guess I did the 'filling in' with too thick of a coat? Because I did wait a long time before applying topcoat, a lot longer than usual when I saw that topcoat dragged the design.. Do you guys have any tips or ideas?

Here's BMG 002 by itself..

Here's the challenge overview (even though the themes are going to be rearranged a bit)

Happy Monday Spring Challenge - Polka Dots: Dotted minty gradient

Hi all :)

This weeks challenge theme is Polka Dots.. I did dots with Essie Absolutely Shore over a gradient of Gosh Silky Mint and Essie Absolutely Shore.. It's a VERY long time since I've done a mani where every nail looks the same!

While I was putting on topcoat something black just appeared on the nail - I have no idea where it came from, but I couldn't do anything about it :/

I used the HK Girl topcoat for the first time with this mani! So far I LOVE it =)
